Show Us how to Die

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice~

Today I came across the story of Zach Sobiech, a boy around my age who passed away a few days ago. What's amazing, is that despite having a clear vision of physical death in full view a year ago, he decided made the most of it & has inspired many (including me) to live everyday to it's fullest positional.

If you guys can spare 20 minutes or so, this video is full of inspiration but also very gut wrenching in a way that so many of us in our teenage years can apply so well~

He was just my age, & God decided it was time for him on Earth.

It really made me wonder, why am I still here?

Zach was an ordinary school boy who spent 18 years of his life making an effort in every opportunity to make others happy. I believe that God in taking him away earlier has used Zach's experiences & testimony to it's fullest potential. Zach's life on this earth has become such a blessing & reminder to many. To urge us all on in this life, to make precious of everyday God has given us.

Show us how to die,
How to give our lives
Living sacrifice

Physical death isn't something we should be afraid of.
Unfortunately for many, it's not a thought to be reckoned with.
But it's inevitable, our flesh will one day come to an end.

When Paul told us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, I believe he was referring to our flesh. Our flesh is our bodies in this world. We can please the flesh in so many ways, but at the same time, God can use us in our flesh in many ways as well.

I believe to live in sacrifice is to give up all the desires of our flesh for His pleasure~

It means avoiding everything that wouldn't please God.
Even though we may desire it greatly, even though it may hurt, make us die inside, we must make the sacrifice to choose what our flesh displeases for His desire~

Zach's story has really reminded me that every one of us in this world can make a difference, can be used by God. We may not have physical death in full view like he had, but if it helps, we really should.

Simple things such as having hope in full view all the time so that we have joy in our hearts all the time can go a very long way. People will notice.

God has given us each a life to live, how are we going to choose to use it?

We really don't have long, though a lifetime may seem very long, time goes by very fast. The next moment in time we'll be left wondering - what have I accomplished?

Instead of living our lives to please our flesh, I pray that we may fight the desire, & to let God use us just as we are. Everyday, remember the hope we have at the end of this road, to live with joy in every moment in our lives, so that true joy may be shared with others~

We have been put here to make a difference.

Godbless~
