The Apple of the Eye

There are many things of this world that make us stumble & once again fall short of His glory~
Most of the time, these certain things are actually not bad things at all.
And the other times, they're bad things that are cloaked to look good.

Take for example,
The fruit of knowledge of good & evil in the Garden of Eden.

It wasn't an evil fruit.
It was one of the many good things God had created.
But when Adam & Eve ate it, they sinned.
It seemed like the fruit had part in the devastating event.

But it was actually the action of disobedience towards God that was truly devastating.

In the Garden, the serpent knew that Even & Adam were curious about the fruit. He knew that there was a slight desire in them that longed to have a taste. He also knew the only thing holding them back was their loyalty towards God.

He attacked that part.
He made them doubt God's words.
He made them doubt all truth they once knew.
They were deceived.

In the same way, Satan does the same to us daily.
That is why God has given us The Bible, to be able to withstand his lies, his deceptions.

Satan knows what our flesh desires.
He knows how to make us fall.

He will find the best time, maybe when we're most unaware.
He will say exactly what our flesh desires to hear.

Think about it.. Since the beginning, hasn't he been trying to draw humanity away from God?
He would be pretty good at it by now. That's why we have been given words directly from God.
That in itself is more than enough to help us stand firm against Satan's own words, as long as we know it's truths well.

Not only will Satan use harmless things to make us stumble,
he may even trick us into seeking harmful, sinful desires sometimes.

King David was a strong servant in the Lord.
But one day, he saw a woman bathing from his palace view.
(2 Samuel 11)

I'm sure he knew very well that what he was about to do was completely corrupt in God's eyes. Even after all the time of his life he'd walked with God, he still made the decision to walk away from Him.

Satan knew what David's flesh wanted so much at that instance. It was the 'apple to his eye' at that moment.
Satan didn't hesitate, he made the most of the opportunity.
And here we see one of God's great servants commit adultery.

It was stupid.
It was so obviously a sin.
But David still gave in.

I assure you, any of us can just as easily be tricked if we let our guard down.

We must continue to seek truth from The Bible & also set it into our hearts.
Then we will know what is right & wrong all the time so Satan has less of a chance of deceiving us.

I hope this may have helped.

Until next time,
Godbless~
