Can't I just turn a blind eye to it & let those that actually care accept it for themselves?
It's just a choice with two mutual sides isn't it?
Either I accept it or not, it's one way or another - my choice.
Well.. is it really?
God's grace isn't something that is given to is. It's something God has already done for us. It's inevitable; undeniable. We have been redeemed already. Our destination changed - we have been made for something greater.
It's not a gift.
It's not as if Jesus died for us so God could ask us if we would like to be saved through Him.
He basically sent Jesus down to earth to die for our sins & in doing so, He literally dragged us away from our filth into the light. It's a battle won, us once kept hostage by sin & now completely freed.
Even if we decide we don't want God's grace, it'd be like denying our own blood within us to circulate - it's in our veins; it's part of us. We have already been made allowable in His presence.
We have the potential. It's the talent we refuse to use.
We can still choose to live in darkness, but it'd be like trying to hurt ourselves - which is just unnatural & can never work out for the good.
We were made for light. Being in darkness would eventually kill us, we can't survive in darkness. We would drown from our own corruption. We would be crushed by ourselves.
No matter how much darkness we are in, how filthy we are, such that grace feels so irrelevant, grace is not our doing - not something we can pick.
We already have it. It could have only come from God, we weren't able to earn it. So remember, it's not what we have done or didn't do, it's what He's done for us when we couldn't do anything.
Why should we have to make a choice anyway?
