Adorable Baby Jesus

♫ O come let us adore Him~

While singing that song during a Christmas service today, I was left wondering what the lyrics really mean - what it means to adore Christ..

Born around 2000 years ago, was a baby, also known as Jesus.
Though as small, vulnerable, & adorable as a baby,
He was also God Himself.

Yes. God became a baby.
The God who created the whole universe with a word.
The God that holds everything in the palm of His hands.
The God so big & powerful we're left needing to worship.

From His paradise, His home, His perfect place,
He came down to this world infected by sin.

Not only that, He became one of us.
Flesh & bone just like us - weak & pathetic.

He became a baby.

Most of us, when we see babies, we think they're adorable.
Remember this, Jesus is the most adorable of all babies.
He's the one that leaves us in adoration of Him eternally~

I think that's one of the most important things to acknowledge.
That God Himself, so high & magnificent, came down to such a low place. Not only that, He also willingly became the lowest of us - a baby.
Though brought so low, He is still adored as a baby, & also as God Himself.

Adoring isn't just about drooling over how cute something is, or wowing at how cool something is~

The dictionary puts it this way.
"To regard with the utmost esteem, love, and respect; honor."
I personally really like that definition.

That's what adoration really means.
To completely lower ourselves, let go of any pride to marvel at how high & great God is. It shouldn't be something we have to take a moment to do. It shouldn't just be something we do before we pray.

Adoration should be a part of us.
We should constantly live in humility & in sight of God's greatness.

So as we celebrate this season of Christmas, I hope we may really remember how God lowered Himself as low as an adorable baby. But also that we should always be in adoration of His greatness & love for us~

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone!
Until Next time,
Godbless~
