Pleasure of Sinning

We have many pleasures everyday.
Having a good night's sleep, a delicious breakfast, an effective workout, spending time with friends, learning lots of new things, these are a few of the many ways we fill our lives with pleasure.

Pleasure makes us feel good.
It creates a comfortable environment for our lives to live in.
Our minds remember what gives us pleasure & keeps us longing for more.

Pleasure is something we desire daily.
Most of the time, we want to feel comfortable or secure & pleasures make us feel so.
That's why pleasures can be a huge influence over our lives.

Pleasures can cause us to detour out of the path we may be going towards just to obtain it or feel it's 'goodness'. It can define us since it can become a part of our daily lives after we've decided we enjoy it. It can drain our lives, make us neglect more important things, just to keep the pleasures going. It can become an addiction.
Pleasures can be dangerous.

More or less all the time, the pleasures we seek are of this world.
Alot of the time, things of this world seem so much more appealing than things that are not.

It's inevitable.
In the form of flesh we're in. In this broken world we were brought up in, & we're in right now.
It's no surprise that earthly things have a stronger grasp over what we desire.

When we're born into this broken world, our first instinct is to please the body.
Babies crave milk to satisfy their hunger.
Children desire toys to play with.
In the same way, we're born instinctively wanting from this world.
Wanting things that are not permanent, which only provide temporary pleasure.

But think of it this way.
When Christ comes back & we're free from the flesh, when we're given new bodies, things will be completely different.

It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. - 1 Corinthians 15:52-52 NLT

The things we see as pleasures now will seem completely ridiculous.
We'll be left wondering "how on earth did I enjoy such a thing" when we see God's glory.
Our new bodies will desire the one & only real pleasure - being in God's presence.

Though we can find pleasure in God's presence today, it may not be as easy in our flesh.
God knows that, He knows how hard it is to flee sin's grasp on us. He's always here to help.
When we find pleasure in pleasing God in the midst of this broken world, not only do we find true pleasure ourselves, but God also finds pleasure in us thriving for Him. It's a win win.
You're bringing real pleasure to yourself AND pleasing God!

But sometimes Satan uses pleasures from this world which are very appealing to our flesh.
When we give into such pleasures, it keeps us further away from our true desire to please the spirit. It causes us to forget how great it really is. It makes it harder to seek God overall.
It is also a very selfish act in a way, since we're trying to only bring pleasures to ourselves, when we could have bought pleasure to God as well by seeking Him. In the process we're also drifting further from a God that wants us to be close to Him..

So the more accustomed we become to the pleasures of the flesh, the more desirable they'll definitely seem. Since they're from the world & only provide temporary pleasure, we'll always indefinitely keep wanting more. We can never get enough. Plus, the greater we try to seek it, the further away we stray from eternal pleasure.

I hope this helps you too seek the pleasure Christ has granted us access - to serve & seek the One true God. Rather than to give into the pleasures of the flesh, which alot of the time pulls us away from God.

Until Next time,
Godbless~
